Phra Nang Inn, Krabi 81000 The hotel is a top spot, especially for families. No trace of sleaze to be seen. Facilities excellent for kids, two safe pools, and across the laneway to the beach which is also very safe for kids. Food in the hotel restaurant is above expectations also. In fact the whole AoNang area is very good for families. Hotel is located right in the centre of things as well. We liked it so much we stayed an extra 3 days. |

It is off the beaten track, but easy to get transport down to Chaweng via 4WD vehicles run by the Jungle Club. Its isolation is its primary virtue - cool breezes, a beautiful view, relaxed atmosphere and friendly staff. The open restaurant takes advantage of the view, and the food there is fine. The beds could be better. Breakfast is good. Mostly we had dinner in town, but the food in the hotel is also good, but it takes some time to prepare it. The hotel is situated in a small street nearby a busy street and the skytrain. Nederlands: We zijn 10 dagen in dit hotel geweest en het is prima bevallen. Het personeel is vriendelijk en behulpzaam De kamers zijn schoon, lekker warm water in de douche. De bedden konden beter, je voelde af en toe de veren in je rug. Het ontbijt is prima, voor iedereen wel wat. Toast, gebakken eieren, allerlei warme gerechten zoals rijst groenden en soep, koffie/thee en sap en een buffet met salade en fruit. We hebben meestal ergens anders gegeten maar de keren dat we in het hotel gegeten hebben smaakte het prima. Je moet alleen wat geduld hebben, het duurt even voordat het klaar is. Het hotel ligt in een zijstraat van een drukke weg zodat je geen last hebt van de drukte in de winkelstraat. Je zit op loopafstand van de skytrain (ongeveer 10 minuten). На просьбу зарегистрировать, нам ответили на тайском, но в переводе на русский: ЧАВО??? , в итоге нехотя нас зарегистрировали с трудом поняв, что все уже уплачено заранее через SAWADEE. Более того, как оказалось позднее - не ходите в массажный в отеле - массаж никакой, просят на чай, аргументируя тем, что мало клиентов)))Поэтому за сервис - 2 . Мы уже было махнули рукой, что мол не повезло с отелем...но далее нас ждало чудо - VIP номер на 9м этаже, который никогда и нигде не стоил бы 1300 рублей...номера чудесные, но не повезло с окном - его не было....поэтому за качество комнаты - 4 . За локэйшн 4 , т.к. близко к метро, но найти надо по запаху ..., но здесь больше влияние местного калорита, чем вина отеля... Фасилитиз - не понял что это... лифт был, туалет был, туктук отеля был, правда не работал))) ресторан после 22 ч не работает, а нам туристам - не удобно, зато каждый день ужинале на открытой терассе Байка на 81 этаже за 890 бат с человека - дешево и улетно здоровски + шикарное меню! <span style="display:none">[R24 integr.ERR:escaping]</span> |

The Andamania Beach Resort, Takuapa, Phang-Nga 82190 Poor service throughout the resort. Garbages left unemptied for days at the beach. Not enough beach chairs at both the pool and beach. Our room was not ready upon arrival at 3.00 P.M. And then we get to room and carpenter is replacing floor boards. Soon after check-in we wanted to check- out but were trapped here because Sawadee cancelation policy, won t make that mistake again. Would not stay there again and would not recommend. |

We stayed in superior sea veiw top floor over looking the pool and the beach, the mornings were beautiful with grand balconys to relax in. Hotel services were more than adequate every employee made us feel like royalty during our stay, buffet breakfast was exceptional and on from reasonable hours 6am-10am gives plenty of time to enjoy your morning with no rush. Myself and partner have been to Thailand several times and stayed in samui finest hotels this will be the one we will be returning to magnificent place to be, thank you. |

Lobby: a bit smelly Breakfast: cooked dishes are tasty, buffet are so so. Dishes varieties never change much throughout my 3 days stay there. Location: Has a great night market behind the street of the hotel that opens from 7pm-3am. Lots of night shopping & eating. Also 6 massage places along the short road in front of the hotel. MRT: 10mins walk away. |

Mango Spa & Resort, Prachuapkirikhan 77110 We spent a whole month at this resort hoping for a quiet holiday. Contrary to what last year s guests said, the hotel was very noisy. Lots of families with small children who were allowed to shout and scream. The bigger pool, as shown on internet, was reserved for villa owners. Hotel guests are asked to stay at small pools. Staff is very friendly but not so efficient. Maintenance is not good enough. All in all a cheap accommodation. Price is good but you get what you pay for! Breakfast was generous, service a bit slow. |

The water by the beach, which you had to go to the neighbour hotel (same owner) to reach, was bad. You didn´t want to go in because it was so dirty. 15 minutes with taxi to Pattaya beach. Coral Bay Resort, Koh Samui, Suratthani 84320 I have been keeping The Coral Bay in mind since my first visit to Koh Samui in late nineties. I passed it by many times and looked around. Prime location, away from noisy Chaweng beach but still close to town, wide beachfront strap which is a rarity nowadays, spacious sea-view bungalows, lush gardens… Indeed, natural luxury, which is the resort’s slogan. Too bad now, its better times have definitely passed. Now it looks neglected and untended. There has been no renovation for years. Bungalows are still comfortable, as they were initially constructed. I bet you won’t get that space for that money anymore anywhere else on the island. We stayed at a PDF (I guess it means paired deluxe family) consisting of two big interconnected bedrooms, each with a king-size bed and a separate bathroom, and a spacious sea-view terrace. I estimate the total space to well exceed 100 sq. meters. The bungalow is so cozy and eco-friendly. It is all-wooden inside and outside, including furniture, has a thatched roof and natural stone in bathrooms. However, renovation has been needed years ago. Or at least elementary day-to-day maintenance. Windows are blotchy. My wife had to buy a detergent at 7/11 and clean the glass herself. The pool is out-of-date and small. Chlorine-cleaning is not maintained, which the management believes to be a plus, but it means muddy and greasy water. If you wear a mask and dive, you would hardly see your stretched hand. All-wooden sunbeds are withered, futons are covered with spots and slits all around. As a result, the pool is unattended. The beach is not cleaned everyday from sea weeds. Unlike in any well-managed resort, coconuts are dangerously hanging over your head everywhere. Let alone our 5-year kid, we were afraid for ourselves. I had to tell the management about that, and in a couple of days they cut some of those bombs along the paths in the gardens, but on the beach it all remained the same. The beach hut, supposed to be a beachside snack bar, is always closed. I mean, 24/7. Variety of food displayed at breakfast is somewhat an absolute minimum. The main restaurant is almost unattended. The food is pretty good, however, the overall atmosphere is somewhat dead-alive. The menu booklets look like they have never been renewed since the resort’s opening, well-handled and stained. They have a very beautiful lounge next to the restaurant, sort of a big pergola with multicolored clothes fancifully twisted and hanging over your head while you are sitting back in comfy cane sofas and chairs. Wonderfully designed idea, but if you look closer, those clothes have never been to laundry and ironing since the decoration was initially made… So wonderfully conceived, designed and created, the resort has gone rusty and now is in utter desertion… So sad. The staff is not bad, they keep smiling and do their job somehow, but, as everything else in the resort, people leave you with that impression of indifference and negligence. One night, we saw two fat rats strolling on the roof of the adjoining bungalow! My wife was shocked, and it nearly became the final straw for us… But we decided to stay there to the very end, since the accommodation was fully prepaid in advance. The resort’s website has not been updated for four years now, links don’t work properly, which should have been a troubling sign for us. Perhaps, that was the time when the resort was sold by its initial owners… Now it is clenched between Nora Beach and Anantara Lawana which both have worse beach slots and sea access, but look well managed, clean, always full of guests, lights, music and fun. IN SUMMARY: for us, it was not the worst choice because we have been to Koh Samui many times, and in fact, all we need is a spacious room. The Coral Bay provides it, and that’s value for money. We always rent a car and go around the island, attending various places and resorts with their pools, beaches and restaurants. But for those who are not that well acquainted with the island and prefer to get everything in a single basket, to have comfort, good facilities and services at one place, The Coral Bay is not recommended. At least, until it changes to the better, someday, somehow. P.S. If I had money, I would buy and resurrect it, turn it into a real pearl… |
